Our client is a growing technology company (approx 200 employees worldwide.) Their core competency is the provision of services around the commercial aspects of mobile roaming, in particular data and financial clearing.

They are looking for a new Head of Finance who will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function.

The Head of Finance position reports directly to the CEO and assists C-Level management team on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, forecasting needs, cost benefit analysis.

Duties:

  • Develop long term strategic plans for the business working with the relevant executive stakeholders.
  • Provide insightful management information to the board and executive team, developing and enhancing appropriate KPI's to support appropriate decision making.
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies, joint venture arrangements and foreign operations
  • Work with other C-level management to implement operational best practices
  • Responsible for providing effective budgeting, forecasting and analysis, cashflow etc
  • Ensure a robust risk management system is in place which is aligned to the company's strategy and regularly updated
  • Partnering with the heads of departments to ensure that each area is being effectively managed with appropriate performance measures and reviews
  • Evaluate, analyse and manage major investments across the business
  • Actively engage and work as business partner to key stakeholders across the organisation
  • Developing SUN financial information systems and reporting to meet business needs
  • Ability to lead significant new projects as required
  • Statutory and financial reporting, and relationships with auditors and other advisors
  • Ensuring an effective and efficient system of internal controls is in operation and managing relationship with internal auditors
  • Possess significant subject matter expertise and applies such knowledge to guide the finance team and the processes across the organisation.
  • Manage financial reporting of the Company's Auto Enrollment Pension Savings and Retirement Plan
  • Report monthly financial results to the Leadership Team and at quarterly board meetings
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the Company.
  • Monitor banking activities of the Company.
  • Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the Company's needs and the effective utilisation of surplus working capital.
  • Manage business insurance plans and health care coverage analysis.
  • Train finance staff and any other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial matters.
  • Supervise and control any acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
  • Prepare the company in any exit strategy (e.g. trade sale, public listing) and be main contact for financial matters to third party purchasers, legal advisors, regulatory bodies etc.

Candidate:

  • Relevant professional Accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 10 years plus post qualification experience.
  • Experience of working for a SME
  • Experience of SUN systems is desirable
  • Successful track record in a financial career with a strong commercial focus
  • Experience of successfully managing a finance team with demonstrable evidence of team development and implementing changes and improvements
  • Evidence of excellent relationship management and business partnering skills with key intermediaries
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Strong understanding of financial information systems and tools and how to utilise them to improve efficiencies and provide relevant and insightful information
  • Strong project management skills
