Finance Manager

Temp to perm position with a global investment management firm.

Within this exciting role you will be part of a thriving international Accounting & Financial Management team in an agile environment offering plenty of opportunities to develop technically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead accountant for UK Companies
  • Perform validation and control on accounting entries performed by our service provider
  • Ensure timely and accurate closure of month end accounts including P&L variance analysis and balance sheet substantiation
  • Preparation of annual UK statutory financial statements along with co-ordinating and assisting with year-end audit of UK entities
  • Prepare and file regulatory returns with UK FCA
  • Assisting and liaising with tax service provider to ensure accurate calculation and timely submission and payment of UK taxes (VAT, Corporation Tax, PSA)
  • Acting as liaison and representative of the Accounting & Financial Management function with internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing support to the successful roll-out of global and regional change initiatives/projects

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study
  • ACCA/ACA or other local relevant certification
  • Ideally 3+ years of relevant professional experience as a Finance Controller/Finance Manager in an FCA regulated firm
  • UK VAT Partial Exemption Method knowledge preferable
  • Strong technology skills especially with MS Office and SAP
  • Highly analytical, diligent, detail oriented and strong business acumen
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, multifaceted, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment, effective multi-tasking skills are therefore vital
  • Proactivity in addressing problems and making continuous operational improvements
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with offshore shared service centres is a plus
