Senior Controls Engineer - Data Centres (based in Jakarta)
Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading Multinational Engineering Consultancies company. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 5-10 years’ experience in Data Centres project for the job of Senior Controls Engineer. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Key job responsibilities include: 
  • Lead development of the Controls Philosophy and overall control system design.
  • Produce complete Controls design packages for global projects.
  • Conduct condition surveys on existing control systems and instrumentation.
  • Prepare reports outlining legislative non‑compliance and improvement actions.
  • Determine optimal design approaches balancing technical and commercial factors.
  • Support system architecture development for greenfield and brownfield C&I upgrades.
  • Create Control System designs from concept to detailed design, including performance specifications.
  • Produce design deliverables—drawings, schedules, datasheets.
  • Coordinate Control Systems scope with other engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Revit Technicians and oversee development of 3D Revit models.
  • Coordinate network infrastructure requirements with Network Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Prepare and review tender documents, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Support construction and commissioning phases, including reviewing submittals, responding to queries, and conducting site visits.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning, up to Integrated Systems Testing.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Process Automation, Mechatronics, Systems Design Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Consulting experience in data centres or similar industries.
  • 5+ years as a Controls Engineer in an MCF environment, ideally data centres.
  • Strong HVAC process automation knowledge.
  • Experience with SCADA, BMS/PMS/DCIM systems and emerging tech (AI, ML).
  • Familiarity with ISO 22237, EN 50600, and related legislation.
  • Proficient with Autodesk tools (viewing/mark‑ups).
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management abilities.
  • Able to work independently and travel as needed.
