Position Summary:
This position will work as part of the Overdose Team reporting to and assisting the
Director of the Overdose Task Force and academic partners to lead a comprehensive
evaluation of the State’s Overdose Strategic Plan.
Primary responsibilities include leading and managing the evaluation of all overdose
related strategies, program evaluation, and data collection, while working closely with
the EOHHS Overdose Data Analytics lead and academic partners. This position will
work within the Overdose Team to ensure alignment with the Governor’s Overdose
Task Force strategic priorities and the Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee’s
priorities, impact of investments, production of reporting requirements for approved
opioid abatement uses, and interagency coordination.
Job Description:
Prepare for, internal and external evaluation related activities, reports, and
presentations; organize logistics of, and staff the Advisory Committee, create
related materials for decision-making.
Assist with overdose-related performance management, develop
communications and tools to document progress and evaluation.
Work with the interagency and EOHHS overdose team to foster the
gathering of community input;
Collaborate with EOHHS’ state agency partners and with community
partners, representing EOHHS where appropriate.
Rhode Island’s aim is to achieve substantive, measurable progress against overdose
and opioid injustices that trap communities in cycles of oppression and limit the ability to
live a healthy life.
The qualified candidate will possess both professional and evaluation experience and
content expertise to support the work of the EOHHS Overdose Team, and the
interpersonal and communication skills needed to work with internal and external
stakeholders to advance this work.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in healthcare, public policy, or a related field.
5-7 years of demonstrated work experience, of which at least two years
must have been in evaluation.
Knowledge of behavioral health care policy and programs, including
Medicaid and managed care programs.
Familiarity with Rhode Island’s overdose prevention stakeholder
community.
Excellent theories of evaluation experience, including behavioral health
evidence-based research and practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively
with staff, leadership, clients, and stakeholders and to deliver clear, concise
communication material.
Expertise and strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership experience with capability of fostering a collaborative
environment.
Comfortable leading effective meetings and work sessions, with all levels
of staff and leadership.
Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task, and work under
time constraints.
Ability to exercise good judgment and strategic thinking.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word,
PowerPoint, and Excel.
