Position Summary:
We are seeking a temporary Public Art Program Coordinator to facilitate artwork acquisitions. This role supports public art team by managing project logistics, stakeholder communications, and documentation for state-funded art installations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination:
- Liaise between agencies, architects, construction teams, and artists to implement public art projects.
- Schedule and administer selection panel meetings in compliance with the Open Meetings Act.
Administrative Support:
- Prepare contracts, invoices, agendas, and meeting minutes.
- Document project progress for presentations to the Council on the Arts.
Artist & Stakeholder Management:
- Facilitate communications with artists and selection panels.
- Ensure adherence to state procurement and dress code policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of public art practices, materials, and genres.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently remotely (personal computer required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in art installation, curation, or exhibition administration.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and use ladders (for occasional onsite work).
Work Conditions:
- Hybrid Model: 90% remote; 10% onsite (Providence, RI).
- Variable Hours: ~5 hours/week (flexible scheduling).
