Position Summary
The Human Resource Analyst III reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for processing payroll data for employees across both hospital campuses (Cranston and Zambarano). The primary focus of this role is the timely and accurate entry of payroll data within the State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system — Workday.
This position serves as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and departmental leadership to ensure accurate time recording, reconciliation of paper timesheets, and prompt resolution of payroll discrepancies. As part of the hospital’s payroll modernization initiative, this role plays a key part in ensuring smooth payroll operations during and after the ERP transition.
Duties and Responsibilities

Review, verify, and reconcile employee paper timesheets for accuracy and completeness prior to entry into Workday.

Input time and attendance data in compliance with established payroll procedures and deadlines.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in time reporting by collaborating with department managers and supervisors.

Ensure all payroll submissions are completed and approved before weekly posting deadlines.

Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries, corrections, and clarifications.

Conduct quality control reviews of data entered by other payroll personnel to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Support the implementation and ongoing optimization of the Workday ERP payroll and timekeeping systems.

Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensure compliance with State and hospital policies.

Participate in training and process improvement initiatives related to payroll operations, ERP functionality, and data integrity.

Perform related duties as assigned to support payroll, scheduling, and workforce management functions.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, or Human Resources preferred.

Experience in payroll processing, data entry, or administrative support involving detailed recordkeeping and reconciliation.

Experience using HRIS or ERP systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or Kronos strongly preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for reconciliation and reporting.

Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare administrative environment preferred but not required.
