Job Summary:
Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is seeking a per-diem Research Recruiter to support a federally funded research study aimed at evaluating a substance use prevention program for youth involved in the child welfare system. Reporting to the Office of Data Analytics, Evaluation, and Continuous Quality Improvement, this role focuses on identifying eligible families and conducting phone outreach to inform them about the study. Interested participants will be referred to Rhode Island Hospital for further engagement.
This role requires a compassionate communicator with experience working with vulnerable populations, fluency in conversational Spanish, and excellent phone etiquette. The recruiter will collaborate with external research partners and contribute to recruitment goal tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and contact eligible families for study recruitment
- Provide study details over the phone and obtain verbal consent for referral
- Refer participants to Rhode Island Hospital’s research team
- Participate in regular check-ins with research partners to monitor progress
Required Qualifications:
- Fluency in conversational Spanish
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- Prior experience with phone-based outreach or communication
- Position is 8–12 hours/week with flexible scheduling
- Some weekday evening availability required; strong preference for weekend availability
