Job Summary:
The Financial Reporting Manager will serve as the Dean of Student Financial Assistance and Scholarships, providing strategic leadership for a comprehensive financial aid program, including grants, loans, scholarships, Rhode Island Promise, and student employment opportunities. This role oversees financial aid policy development, program evaluation, budgeting, staff management, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The position requires regular travel to multiple campuses and availability for on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of student financial aid, scholarships, and student employment programs.

  • Interpret, implement, and update financial aid policies in compliance with changing regulations.

  • Manage multi-campus financial aid operations, ensuring equitable distribution of resources.

  • Prepare and review statistical reports, grant documentation, and fiscal reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for audits and program reviews, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor financial aid staff, fostering professional development and accountability.

  • Maintain operational efficiency in Ellucian Banner and other financial aid technology platforms.

  • Partner with college departments to identify and address equity gaps in student access and retention.

  • Represent the college in professional associations and participate in committees to support student success.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible financial aid administration experience.

  • Expertise in federal regulations, need analysis, and Banner Ellucian financial aid systems.

  • Proven leadership in multi-campus or community college environments, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Experience with audits, program reviews, and completion of FISAP and other state/federal reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience at or above the Director level in financial aid administration.

  • Leadership experience in a collective bargaining environment.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and student service skills.

  • Experience implementing or refining student information systems.

Additional Information:
  • Must be available for on-call duties.

  • Travel to multiple campuses on a weekly basis is required.

  • Position expected to run full-time from late August or early September through April 1.
