MS Excel experience JOB DUTIES (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
Operates data entry or data verification equipment to check for accuracy and sufficiency of data and makes corrections or adjustments as needed.
Operates keyboard on data entry equipment (e.g., key to disk, tape or card, video display terminal) and electric typewriter.
Performs clerical tasks related to data processing (e.g., proofreading, filing, distributing and mailing output, coding and totaling data, maintaining entry logs, sorting and filing). MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; office practices and procedures.
- Skill in operating data entry equipment, peripheral machines (e.g., scanner, printer), and data verification equipment.
- Ability to proofread material, recognize errors and make corrections; read, copy, and record figures; check similar or dissimilar items; perform repetitive manual functions using hands and fingers.
- Formal education in arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary; six months of training or experience using data entry equipment.
- For Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, Wage Record Department: minimum of 10,000 net keystrokes per hour on an alphanumeric keyboard OR four months of experience as Data Entry Operator 1 (12331) with the same keystroke requirement OR equivalent of the minimum qualifications listed above.
