Interim Policy Manager - Senior Manager Regime

The Interim HR Policy Manager will support the implementation of Senior Manager Certification Regime by completing a comprehensive review of HR policy, amending the policy to ensure alignment to SMCR regulations and working with stakeholders to communicate the approved policy to colleagues. This role is to start asap for 3-6 months working for a leading Global professional services firm.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review the UK HR policy and employee handbook and update to align withSMCR, specifically:
    • On-Boarding, Performance Review
    • Investigations, Disciplinary
    • Exit and Termination, Regulatory References
    • Assess other HR policies, including; handover, block-leave, spans of control etc.
    • Align policy to process and work with stakeholders to ensure this can be made operational
  • Review and update employment contracts, to be issued to Senior Manager Functions and Certified Regime colleagues in scope of the regulations
  • Review and revise JD's for relevant employees, to be issued to colleagues in scope of the regulations
  • Review and revise the employee handbook
  • Prepare papers for approval by the Work and Steering Committees and present to these committees as required
  • Support roll-out and communication of new policy, including presenting to senior management and other stakeholders, prepare FAQs
  • Train colleagues as required on the policy

Experience required includes:

  • Experience of HR policy, employment law and an understanding of the regulatory environment required
  • Background in financial services/banking/insurance/re-insurance required
  • Experience of SMCR preferred, plus experience of partnering with Compliance on programme delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a complex matrix environment, ability to influence
  • Ability to execute at pace

This role is to start asap for 3-6 months, paying a day rate and can be based from a range of locations in London, Surrey and Suffolk - flexible/remote working is also available.
