A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to join this dynamic social organisation based in North London. This is a Part Time stand-alone role, which will involve sole responsibility for the entire HR Function including the recruitment of staff, policies and procedures and alignment with good HR practice. This is an ideal role for an experienced HR Manager looking for a Part Time position with flexibility.

Duties:

  • A member of the senior management team, you will work with colleagues to implement a new organisational-wide strategic vision.
  • Manage employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Administer payroll and payroll records and keep accounts appraised of any changes.
  • Monitor usage of holiday entitlement in liaison with managers
  • Own the management of BreathHR system or similar and ensure that users can use the system
  • Keep informed of all legislative changes, determine impact on the organisation and implement as required.
  • Liaise with external HR consultancy services as required
  • Manage the insurance policies (private health care, income protection etc.)
  • Monitor headcount and related staffing costs for both permanent and temporary staff/contractors versus budget and report to Executive Team
  • Ensure compliance with HR and tax legislation (e.g. including use of contractors and freelancers) and monitor, highlight and manage risks
  • Support the recruitment process - this may include supporting staff members in writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions and application forms etc.
  • Carry out new starter inductions and manage leaver process
  • Manage talent and succession planning.
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate and understanding of key legislation such as Health & Safety, Data Protection.

Person Specification

  • Proven HR generalist experience of three to five years is expected.
  • A Level 5 CIPD qualification, or equivalent, is essential.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills is required together with proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application.
  • Proactive team player with focus on internal service and problem solving skills.
  • Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through change.
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.
