LMA Recruitment are currently business partnering with financial institution looking for a Financial Controller to on up to a months notice, to join the finance team in central London on a 6 month sabbatical cover, paying between £60-70k.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounting (using Sage 50 Professional Accounts & Sage Forecasting): invoicing and payments; chasing aged debtors; preparation of monthly management accounts, VAT returns and additional monthly management reports; carrying out year-end procedures.
  • Maintaining contact with the banks: including working capital management, payment of purchase invoices through online Banking.
  • Completion and submission of VAT Returns and EC sales list.
  • Preparation of budgets and forecast for regular Board and Finance Committee meetings.
  • Responsible for the year-end audit, including liaising with auditors.
  • Development of new reports and financial processes as required.
  • Companies House reporting
  • Coordinate and organise Finance Committee meetings; preparing reports and presentations including drafting and distributing meeting agendas and minutes,
  • Preparing monthly reporting to the Executive & Finance Committees.
  • Processing & managing petty cash in sterling and various foreign currencies.
  • Arrange travel including visas, logistics, travel packs and foreign currency for Executive Directors.
  • Arrange monthly expenses and credit card statements for Chief Finance Officer.
  • Provide assistance on various ad hoc projects, as instructed by the Executive Directors.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Superior attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and able to change priorities quickly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and to handle a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Advanced skills with Sage 50, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively and achieve results without close supervision
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible and varying work schedule and be accessible after hours as needed. Work hours may include engagements outside of normal working hours
  • Must be able to proactively provide updates to senior staff on the status of tasks and action items
  • A dedicated team member, happy to play out of position on occasion to meet the business needs
