Our client is a long-established financial firm

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working as part of the Financial Crime team carrying out client due diligence (KYC/CDD) and client categorisation as part of the client on-boarding process in line with UK AML legislation and the firm's risk based approach, for a client base mainly made up of financial institutions, other wholesale firms and funds across the globe.

  • Obtaining required documentation, using various websites and proprietary systems as well as through liaison with client facing staff, and through direct contact with clients.

  • Undertaking checks for politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions and negative press and recording and analysing the results.

  • Updating colleagues on the progress of each client opening and maintaining statistics on this.

  • Carrying out refreshes of information held on existing clients

  • Carry out Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing monitoring - involves checking clients and ensuring that new and existing client records are maintained in line with UK Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing requirements.

  • Assisting with various tasks as requested.

Person Specification

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a client on-boarding role

  • Good understanding of the UK legislation, regulations and risk based approach in relation to AML and client due diligence and its application to wholesale clients.

  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong ability to carry out research and obtain information on the internet.

  • Preferably educated to degree level.
