Job Purpose:

Reporting to the QA Manager support the operations and data requirements of the PCIM Management Team and Investment Managers to ensure good investment practices and client outcomes are maintained.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Complete in-depth reviews of client files to ensure that they meet Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews from initiation to completion which will include documentation and recommended remedial actions to address short comings.
  • Development of metrics, reports and MI for the QA Manager and PCIM Management Team.
  • Support the QA Manager in educating Investment Managers regarding suitability and BITA risk outlier requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure data errors, transactional delays and other operational issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
  • Working with the QA Manager and HR to manage the internal permissions portal/process to ensure Investment Managers are qualified and have the requisite qualification and approval to work at any given level.
  • Support the implementation of the Training and Competence framework and the SMCR.
  • Work closely with PCIM Management, Investment Managers and HR ensuring Training & Competence requirements are adhered to, and that Investment Managers complete statutory training modules, their annual appraisal and achieve their 35 hours annual CPD requirement.
  • Update the procedures manual as required.
  • Presenting data in clear and understandable formats.
  • To investigate how best to improve process and working methods.
  • Producing and analysing MI for the purpose of Conduct Risk monitoring.
  • Support Resolution of PCIM Audit Points.
  • Reviewing and updating PCIM related policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree level education preferred but not essential.
  • Working knowledge and operational experience of the Wealth Management Industry.
  • Knowledge of FCA Regulations that govern KYC and Investment suitability requirements.
  • Previous experience or awareness of what is required when assessing the suitability of advice and investment managers performance.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Highly organised with a structured and methodical approach to work.
  • Good understanding of the importance of process.
  • Ability to review working practices and spot problems or area for improvement.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills, particularly in the area of report writing.
  • Understanding of systems relating to financial services (WDX, Order Routing etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of FCA regulatory rules and guidance.
  • Ability to liaise and work effectively with support functions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Be articulate and diplomatic at all times and calm under pressure.
  • Good time management skills
  • Candidates should be able to assert themselves effectively when dealing with Investment Managers and other departments.
  • A strong team player with a positive 'can-do' attitude at all times.
