My client who is a large insurance broker based in South London who are looking to recruit a 2nd line Desktop Support.

Desktop Support - 2nd line - £45K

You must have experience in large company supporting 4500 users:

    • Can you tackle problems across many diverse technologies? Here it would include SCCM, JAMF, EPO, HP hardware; Windows 2008/2012/2016; Active Directory; DNS; DHCP; Windows Clustering, SCOM, VMWARE/Virtualisation technologies
    • Our IT Team are required to work to strict Change control governance, acting as and constantly developing as a Technical authority within specified technologies. A large part of your role will include conducting in-depth investigations and providing root cause analysis of incidents and outages.
    • Acting as a point for complex problems and a single point of contact for phone calls, emails and self-service tickets from internal staff regarding IT issues.
    • High level technical representation on P1 issues; including conference calls and handle technical resolution. Provide support across production and test environments and have a deep understanding as to how applications work well with these systems.
    • Ensuring regular and clear updates are provided along with dedicated systems performance, management and maintenance. You will provide technical solutions for BAU, producing high level overviews and explanations as required. For this you'll need to be able to take complex and technical information and make it easy for the business to digest.
    • Deployment of new platforms and improvements to existing ones
    • Carrying out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our busines

Desirable:

  • An ITIL qualification is desirable but not essential
  • A solid grasp of how applications interact with the Windows Operating System is critical as is experience in Enterprise Microsoft products and expertise in Active Directory.
  • A validated understanding of hardware issues and knowledge of high availability and DR concepts
  • Must have knowledge of SCCM along with significant experience deploying devices within a corporate environment
  • Enterprise level experience of McAfee EPO is required. Best practices including but not limited to; exclusion policies, system tree/OU structure, Hard drive encryption, client deployment
  • Experience with JAMF or deployment of Apple products via other technologies at corporate level are essential
  • Desirable skills but not essential are Citrix Xenapp/Xendestop, Citrix PVS
