Credit Department-Structured Credit Team-Vice President

.Our client a growing Wholesale & Investment Bank is looking to hire a Structured Credit Manager. As part of the Credit Department. Purpose of role: Prepare succinct credit papers from Front Office applications that combine high-quality financial and sectorial risk analysis to facilitate credit deliberation. Proactively monitor and identify key risks within assigned portfolio, clients and industry sub-sectors including escalation reporting of deteriorating credits and other problem situations. Maintain a constructive and supportive relationship with origination and portfolio management teams on credit proposals relative to risk assessment and risk appetite considerations. Background: Analytical responsibility for a portfolio of assets, determined by sector(s) and new transactions, with oversight of a secondary analyst where required. Manage credit portfolio including applications and approval process, as well as special credits and other risk events in conjunction with Front Office (first line of defence). Engage with Front Office colleagues and provide appropriate challenge on risk factors / develop workable solutions to mitigate risk issues. Facts/Scale: Assist in the management of a substantial portfolio across the spectrum of Project Finance, Asset Acquisition Finance, Lease Finance and related Derivatives. Assess new credits, most of which are non-recourse cash flow lending - the team handles c. 150 new transactions across multiple segments and asset types in EMEA. Manage under-performing / deteriorating credit situations through continuous monitoring and through of credit and market experience. Report to Director (&/or above), working in a team of 10 credit professionals managed by 2 x MDs. Accountabilities/Responsibilities Exercise strong risk assessment methodology toward new transactions and management of a portfolio (including Problem Assets) across a broad variety of sectors, geographies, and asset / product types. Working as a trusted partner with Front Office deal teams to ensure delivery to clients whilst maintaining high credit quality. Articulate CD risk perception and appetite for a transaction in line with bank policy and procedures, manage the interaction and communication with front office teams, and attend meetings with clients where necessary. Experience and capability to take a complex PF or asset finance transaction from inception to approval with limited supervision. Flexibility to work to tight deadlines under pressure (including ability to work outside of contracted hours from time to time / as workflow demands), to give prompt responses to customers. Collaborate with other risk and compliance functions where appropriate to ensure enterprise wide view of risk is considered. Assist other members of the team by proactively taking work in a manner which ensures work is fairly distributed, particularly in times of strong workflow / staff absences. Develop relationships within the team: seek guidance and advice from colleagues; express well-reasoned arguments and influence senior management; and assist in recruitment and training of more junior staff. Willingness / flexibility to be involved in ad hoc projects supporting the strategy of Structured Credit Team and the wider department / bank. Draw on expertise and professional knowledge to propose innovative solutions / improvements to status quo. Exemplify strong credit management and analytical skills to more junior staff, sharing experience to assist in their professional development, and build expertise within the team. Take responsibility to be accountable for on time on budget delivery of results. Knowledge/Skills/Experience & Qualifications Degree level education and / or relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACA, ACCA, ACT), and a track record of continued learning and development. Meaningful experience in a credit management role within a major international bank, with likely to have seen a broad range of products / transaction types and some experience of varying credit market conditions. Acceptable knowledge of project finance, asset acquisition finance and derivative products, including familiarity with documentation and market trends. Experience of problem asset management / work-outs and experience is desirable, preferability in Project Finance. High level of IT literacy, strong written and verbal communication skills (supporting preparation of succinct and focused credit papers), and strong interpersonal skills (supporting collaboration / teamwork). VP, Credit Risk

Role & Responsibilities: Assist Head of Credit in managing the Credit Risk Committee including producing key management information. Assist Head of Credit in providing and managing input into ICAAP as required. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of reports. To highlight emerging issues impacting all credit risks facing the bank. To work closely with colleagues in the Risk Management Team. Responsible for analysis of credit portfolio and credit risk control tasks. Establish new controls in line with new business requirements. Review credit applications and grading reviews. Make preliminary credit recommendation to the reporting line and management. Monitoring of the emerging risks portfolio. Adapt to the bank's internal credit assessment tools and document templates. Interface with marketing desk and credit sanctioning authority. Prepare/Review reports as required by management, the head office, auditors, and regulators. Monitor and verify new and existing trades for compliance with credit approvals and policies. Other pertinent credit database upkeep, credit control and analysis activities as assigned. Oversight of issuer risk of SPG bond positions. Review of COREP reports as 2LoD. Provision of risk services to regional entities in accordance with the relevant intragroup SLA/intragroup arrangements, where applicable This role reports into the Head of Credit and will primarily work with the Credit group credit officers and Front Office. This role has some delegation of approval as defined by the CRO.
